Creating a beautifully dressed table

Dressing our boardroom table for an intimate evening of design networking has become a regular event at our collaborative Fitzrovia showroom. A favourite for its whimsy and pastel colour has to be this Spring table created for Cornflake.

Our absolute ‘go-to’ for the catering are our friends at ‘The Mayfair Chippy’; one of our first commercial design projects in London and now a highly acclaimed independent restaurant. They created a bespoke three course dinner with paired wine and cocktails – the chef Pete comes and prepares this on site which is such a treat to witness.

The tablescape was sumptuously styled by Stephenson Wright collaborating with the lovely team at Harrods Interior styling – a natural link from Natalie’s time working at Harrods Interior Design Studio.

Beautiful insects and monsters played a huge inspiration.  A curation of monsters by L’Objet Haas Brothers, mushrooms by Lladro, decorative leaves by Villari & sterling silver figurines by Carrs were all placed down the centre of the table to create different heights and to add grandeur. Harrods Interior styling collaborated with florist Yoko Blooms, creating the bright, sunny pastel bouquets with Etro vases & Porcelain urns by Richard Ginori to match. The look was completed with two elaborate gold candlesticks by L’Objet and elegant blue taper candles.

The table place settings were personalised using the services of the Embroidered Napkin Company featuring the name of our guests sewn in gold thread on a sage green velvet ribbon tied in a bow. These were wrapped around handmade linen table napkins, resting on gold-rimmed scalloped white bone china tableware. The crystal wine glasses were by Reidel, water glasses by Soho Home and the cutlery Sophie Conran for Portmeirion. To complement the theme, pastel foil easter eggs were placed around the table for an added pop of colour.

Different interior design styles, for different tastes

There are many other styles of interior design that might fit more into the realms of your personal taste. Coastal, eclectic, mid-century modern, bohemian, farmhouse, Hollywood glam, industrial, French country, Scandinavian, Mediterranean… the important thing is to define your style, and appreciate that it may well be a blend of two or more styles.

Using the expertise of a seasoned interior designer will always help to pinpoint your individual style, and find ways of combining it with those all-important necessities of everyday living. So your interior perfectly embodies your unique style, whilst catering to your practical needs.

Whether you’ve just moved into a new home, or have a desire to breathe new life into an existing space, we’d be delighted to work with you to design your dream space. Please get in touch to discuss your project.
